Inspirational Velindre fundraiser Wayne Griffiths receives British Empire Medal

Wayne Griffiths first became involved in fundraising when his late daughter Rhian was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2010. He received the honour in recognition of his amazing fundraising efforts, which have surpassed £918,000 in memory of Rhian, who sadly passed away in 2012.

Brain Tumour Research Initiative provides new funding for research in Wales

Dr James Powell, Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Velindre Cancer Centre and Clinical Academic at the Wales Cancer Research Centre (WCRC), has been appointed Clinical Lead for the Brain Tumour Research Initiative (BATRI), a new brain tumour research fund established by Cancer Research Wales.

QuicDNA project nominated for two Moondance awards

Clinical Psychology and Counselling specialist receives British Empire Medal

Sarah Bull’s honour was announced in the New Year’s Honours List 2024 and a special ceremony took place at the Coed Y Mwster Hotel, near Bridgend. Part of the Clinical Psychology team at Velindre Cancer Centre, Sarah has been recognised for services to palliative care during an outstanding career that has spanned several decades.
