Supporting our Armed Forces

A uniformed soldier walks through a field. Armed Forces Covenant

Our promise to those who serve or have served

At Velindre University NHS Trust we are proud to have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019. This is our promise to those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, that they are treated fairly. We have pledged to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support their community by recognising the value of Serving Personnel both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families and their contribution to our organisation and country.

We will ensure members of our Armed Forces community have support to access the same services as any other person.

Principles of the Armed Forces Covenant

By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we are committed to upholding the key principles which are:

  • No member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services to any other citizen
  • In some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.
